SPORTS INTERACTION SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETES INDEPENDENT AUDIT
SPORTS INTERACTION SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETES INDEPENDENT AUDIT WITNESSED BY INDUSTRY WATCHDOG, SPORTSBOOK REVIEW.
MOHAWK TERRITORY OF KAHNAWAKE – July 26th, 2011 – Sports Interaction today announced that it has successfully completed a comprehensive independent audit of its online gambling operations by Gaming Associates (GA), the international regulatory compliance auditor. The audit was conducted at the request of the Kahnawake Gaming Commission (KGC) as part of its Continual Compliance Program for licensees. Industry watchdog Sportsbook Review (SportsbookReview.com) attended the first day of auditing.
“Sports Interaction’s performance in this audit was exceptionally good,” said Alan Pedley, CEO of Gaming Associates. “Having reviewed Sports Interaction’s operations, records and reports we can assure players that the company meets a high regulatory standard. Customers of Sports Interaction can have confidence in being treated fairly.”
The audit was far-ranging covering Sports Interaction’s finances and operations including sportsbook trading and risk management, casino, poker, fixed odds games, customer support, financial reconciliation, accounting and liquidity, security, database management and responsible gaming procedures.
“We are very pleased to see Sports Interaction successfully complete its first inspection under our new Continual Compliance Program (CCP),” said Dean Montour, Chairman of the KGC. Sports Interaction has always set itself high operating standards but now customers can bet safe in the knowledge that its operations are being regularly inspected by independent auditors to continually meet the highest standards of regulatory compliance.”
“Sports Interaction has always embraced the KGC’s regulations,” said a spokesperson from Sports Interaction. “We welcome the Continual Compliance Program as a necessary step in winning player trust by making operations completely transparent to inspectors from credible, independent auditors such as Gaming Associates.”
Sportsbook Review witnessed the audit of Sports Interaction
SportsBook Review (SBR), the industry’s pre-eminent watchdog, was invited to witness the live inspection of Sports Interaction departments by Gaming Associates inspectors.
“We’ve never witnessed an operator audited before now,” said Bill Dozer of SportsBookReview.com. “It seemed a brave move on SIA’s part to allow a watchdog to see the audit unfurl because this was their first time and they clearly had no idea how the inspection would be done. The SIA guys were literally running reports in front of us to bring up the evidence required to demonstrate compliance in real-time. The auditor would ask to see a client record from a specific date range and then request the client’s registration documents proving their age, identity and address had been properly verified. Sports Interaction’s back office systems were very thorough and really impressive.”

Sports Interaction betting analyst Frank Doyle looks ahead to Super Bowl XLVI!
Sports Interaction has made book on Super Bowl XLVI. New England and Green Bay are joint favorites at +700, Pittsburgh is +1000, San Diego +1200 and then it’s +1400 the field.
At first glance, Green Bay is value at +700 and New England isn’t. Both are blessed with two of the best quarterbacks in the League but Green Bay has a defense that can stop Tom Brady and the Patriots don’t have a defense that can stop Mark Sanchez. There’s the difference.
Pittsburgh will there or thereabouts. The Roethlisberger controversy has run its course and is over now, so if that was a factor last year it’s not now. Pittsburgh above any team plays in a very recognisable way, and has done since Chuck Noll was there in the 1970s.
They’ve tweaked as the game has evolved but the Pittsburgh way remains to protect the ball on offense and pound you into submission on defense. It’s worked so far, and there’s no reason to think it won’t deliver again this year.
San Diego’s shortish price is because of the quality of their quarterback. But football is a team game and Philip Rivers can’t carry a team on his own. The Chargers are a bad bet to do anything this year. In fact, in that division, I’d be keeping a close eye on Denver. The raw materials are there for John Fox to make something happen.
Denver wouldn’t be a good bet for the Super Bowl though.. That said, we are now in an era where teams can come from nowhere in a way that would be unimaginable when Dallas, San Francisco or Chuck Noll’s Steelers ruled the League. Look at the Saints and the Giants in recent years. Who’s a good bet to come from the pack and win it all?
Philly could, but they’re so reliant on Michael Vick staying healthy. Vick is at his best in his maturity but there’s a reason quarterbacks don’t play like he does and that’s because they get smashed up. There are people who will never forgive him and you can sympathize but it would be some story of redemption if Michael Vick had a fairytale ending.
The team I like as a longshot sleeper – and America’s Team is hardly ever referred to as a longshot or a sleeper by bookmakers – is Dallas. Dallas has been playing below its talent level for years. If Jason Garrett can make his team and quarterback take the game seriously, maybe the Cowboys will be the last men standing in Indianapolis next February.

UFC 129 Preview and Picks
Sports Interaction betting analyst Frank Doyle previews the highlight bouts of UFC 129.
Sixty thousand tickets have been sold for UFC 129, which is happening this Saturday night at the Rogers Centre in Toronto. If the Ontarian Government ever wondered if it was right to recognise the sport, that’s sixty thousand endorsements right there.
Mixed martial arts is the fastest growing sport in the world and UFC 129 features some of the UFC’s most iconic fighters. The showpiece bout of the night is Georges St-Pierre’s defense of his welterweight belt against Jake Shields.
St-Pierre is a warm favorite against Shields, who was very successful as a Strikeforce fighter, but could there be more to this fight than meets the eye?
St-Pierre is hailed by many as the best pound-for-pound mixed martial artist in the world. He is the current face of the UFC, its greatest hero. Shields won’t have faced anyone like GSP before and St-Pierre’s striking ability is considerably better than Shields. Shields has been working on his striking but everybody knows that Jiu jitsu is where his strength lies.
Is that Jiu jitsu enough to allow Shields a chance against the multi-talented GSP? Shields trainer thinks it is – and he would say that, of course – but for all the aura surrounding GSP five of his last eight wins have been by decision. That suggests that GSP’s striking advantage might not be as strong as we’ve been led to believe, and the fight might be more even than some predict.
GSP to win by decision is the favorite in the MMA odds for the fight and a Shields win would certainly be a shock that would reverberate throughout the sport. But it’s not as far beyond the bounds of possibility as some would think.
On the undercard of the fight, local hero Mark Hominick takes on Brazil’s Jose Aldo for Aldo’s featherweight belt. Both these fighters are strikers, but Aldo packs quite some wallop. If he dings Hominick, it’s game over for the man from Thamesford.
One of the most intriguing fights on the card is at light heavyweight where two of the great names of the sport enter the Octagon with something to prove.
Brazil’s Lyoto Machida was a man whose star was on the rise after his first sixteen fights, racking up big, big wins against Tito Ortiz, Thiago Silva, Rashad Evans and Mauríco Rua. But then Rua knocked out Machida in the rematch last March and controversially lost a split decision in November against Quinton Jackson to find his career at crossroads.
Randy Couture, Machida’s opponent in UFC 129, has nothing to prove to anybody. The man is a legend of the sport and is only fighting Machida because he likes it. Couture is still a tough, tough guy but he’s forty-seven years old while Machida is young, quick and nimble. Machida’s career will get back on track at UFC 129. As for Randy Couture – well, there’s always the movies.

NBA Eastern Conference Futures Betting
The NBA All-Star break signals the start of the regular season’s stretch run toward the playoffs and it has already started with a bang. Monday night’s blockbuster trade between the Denver Nuggets and New York Knicks that centered on Carmelo Anthony heading east will radically change the complexion of both these teams. It remains to be seen how it will impact their chances to compete with the elite teams in their respective conference, but in the case of New York it is most likely a step in the right direction.
Focusing just on the Eastern Conference, Boston and Miami have positioned themselves as the ‘teams to beat’ through the first 50+ games of the season. Heading into Tuesday night’s games the Celtics are 40-14 on the season and the Heat are 41-15. They have a two-game lead over Chicago (38-16) and a 5 ½ -game lead over Orlando (36-21). Atlanta (34-31) is 6 ½ games off the pace and the ‘new look’ Knicks are 12 games back at 28-26.
Moving forward, it is time to examine where the value lies in the current future odds for some of these team’s chances to win the East this season. Bookmaker has Miami as the odds-on-favorite at 11/10. The big three in South Beach seemed to have found their groove and have an excellent chance to fine-tune their game to an even higher level over the remainder of the season. One possible concern for the Heat are their three regular season losses to the Celtics in three tries. While this may have little or no bearing on what happens in the playoffs, it basically drains what little value their current odds already had.
Boston is the second favorite at 13/8 and probably offers the best value for a safe bet. This season’s team actually looks better than the one that went to the finals last year as the lapses in play that plagued the Celtics during their 2010 regular season run have been few and far between this season. Like an old dog that tends to get revitalized when a new dog comes on the scene, Boston appears to be much more motivated with Miami on its tail.
Chicago, led by the spectacular play of Derrick Rose, has been able to keep pace with the two top dogs and are actually 2-2 combined against them this season. The Bulls will get Joakim Noah, who missed the last two months with a thumb injury, back this week and remain poised to stay in the race for the No.1 seed in the East until the bitter end. They may offer the best value of any team in the conference at 7/1.
The big question mark in the East is where will New York wide up in this picture with Anthony joining Amar’e Stoudemire in the starting lineup. The Knicks also added Chauncey Billips and Anthony Carter, but had to give up Raymond Felton, Wilson Chandler, and Danilo Gallinari to seal the deal. The net effect should produce a team that will be much more competitive down the stretch. New York is listed at 15/1 to win the East and offers some new found value as a moderate longshot. It will probably take some time for all these new faces to gel, but if everything goes right for the Knicks, they could begin the postseason with a quite a head of steam.
Legalize Gambling – Help Save America
Every year after the Super Bowl I get angry. I am not referring to the fact that football is over, but that does not help my demeanor either. The opening first two months of the first quarter of the new year always brings bad news from the economic front in politics. Watch the news every night if you need to be reminded of this fact. I am going to make some assumptions in this blog about tax revenues. I also am going to quote some public opinion out of an article in 2009 in the state of New Jersey, one of the hardest hit states in the Union outside of Illinois in terms of being not solvent as a government entity.
While I am a moderate to liberal republican as an individual, bordering on libertarian, and never thought I would agree with anything that Barney Frank had to say, legalizing gambling, and online gambling may not save the beast that is the Federal Government, but it surely would do more than provide a band aid. I fully back Mr. Franks quest to ease restrictions on online gaming. As we all know in gaming circles, in 2006 the Feds decided to outlaw Internet gambling, including Poker Rooms, and many of my friends we all of a sudden called criminals in the US. Just an insane situation, but sadly a fact. My personal marketplace declined close to 80% alone in revenues, and I am a small fish in a big ocean when it comes to online sports handicapping and online sports gaming.
I guess the biggest sucker and square bet in the history of man, state lotteries and Powerball lotteries are OK with the Feds however, where you have a 1 in 20,000,000 chance of winning, but give yourself better than 50% odds to win a sports bet, or a Poker hand, and you need to go to jail. The Feds LOVE the monies they receive from the biggest scam in American gambling, but this proves my point. The Feds can track it and regulate it and profit from it, so it is legal. Online gambling and dealing with foreign companies and international gaming regulations with no way to get in it and control it, and get no money from it, they make it illegal. Not to mention just stepping all over out civil liberties and violating our privacy in the process. One thing consistent about Washington DC is that it has the basic 2 human emotions, Greed and More Greed. I guess I can say the same thing about Wall Street while I am at it.
The Super Bowl handle in the state of Nevada for the Super Bowl alone was 87 million dollars this year. Recently New Jersey toyed with the idea of legalizing sports betting in their racetracks and casinos. State officials and others estimated a $100 million dollar take in tax revenues if implemented by 2011based on an 8% tax rate for gambling. While I assume those numbers were inflated to sell the deal, as is the case with most politicians and their subordinates, the amount of dollars generated by legalized sports gambling in the US would be in the billions in terms of tax revenues. There is 2.6 billion dollars wagered in Nevada per year on sports, and remember that the 87 million on the Super Bowl is estimated to be only 1% of all wagers worldwide on the Super Bowl. Gambling is bigger than Microsoft folks!
Roads need to be fixed, social programs need funding, teachers all need raises, and astronomical debt needs to be repaid. Now so many conservatives think it will decay the moral fabric of our country and most people are not behind it. I beg to differ and post the following quote from an article referring to the question of legalized sports betting at the end of this blog post. The moral fabric of this country decayed beyond the point of no return when New Jersey Shore was renewed on VH1 this year.
Uncle Sam and offshore companies need to form a committee and look at how they can communicate and build a business model that the Feds are OK with in order to open up online betting. Nice thing about online gaming is no one shows up at your door Tuesday morning to bust your kneecaps when it is time to pay up, you can only wager what is in your account, not bet over your head, if anything it is a form of self reregulation upon people who may in fact want to gamble past their means. THEY ARE DOING IT NOW WITH Illegal bookies all over the country and Uncle Sam is missing the tax gravy train. Same goes with poker and online casinos.
The Feds also spend tens of millions of dollars a year and wasted time chasing organized crime when it comes to gambling or illegal bookmaking operations and or chasing down guys at offshore sports books running a legitimate business in the country of origin, so add that to the savings and tax coffers. A violation of civil liberties can be stomped out in the process of legalization, we are all adults and what we choose to do online in the comfort of our home on a few calculated risks is our business. Actually when it comes to sports betting for the vast majority of people who have half a brain, it is a better risk that the stock market.
Legalize it, tax it, reduce restriction and government control of private lives, let the debate cease and create a revenue stream and more jobs for private enterprise and local, state and federal government. While all Pro leagues shy away and moan about gambling, it drives all their sports as well as the NCAA. Who cares about UAB playing Memphis on Thursday night when the spread is 18 points and ESPN is pulling a 7 share on cable in the ratings? Las Vegas Sportsbook owners are like the 3000 pound elephant invited to the annual NFL Christmas party every year, always on the guest list but nobody buys him a drink. Gamblers drive TV revenues through the roof because 80% of the male population are action junkies. The only red blooded American males who did not have some sort of action at all on Super Bowl Sunday were in the cemetery.
Think I am wrong or the public is not on board with me, see below. Time for action folks, get behind the cause, it is working in Egypt right now with a grass roots movement, let’s make it happen!
There’s no question that the public loves the idea. The latest Farleigh Dickinson University Public Mind poll shows overwhelming support back in New Jersey in 2009. Those asked about allowing sports betting at Atlantic City’s casinos loved the notion – 63 to 32 percent. In every subgroup – men, women, liberals and conservatives – opinion was the same.
