Chicago Bears wide receiver Alshon Jeffery will be among the teams inactive players today against the Arizona Cardinals. The Bears shut down Jeffery for the week after he experienced tightness in his left hamstring Thursday. Jeffery, 25, was active in the Bears’ season opening loss against the Packers last Sunday, playing 60 of a possible 77 snaps.
Jeffrey missed the entire preseason because of a calf injury. Jay Cutler will likely target tight end Marcellus Bennett as a result of missing his number one receiver.
Given the nagging nature of Jeffery’s muscle injuries, it’s the prudent move for coach John Fox to keep his best target on the sideline this week and not risk an extended stay on the injury list by trying to play through the problems.
