ACC Championship: North Carolina vs Clemson, Preview, Line, Pick

Saturday the ACC championship will be held when the No. 8 ranked North Carolina Tar Heels play the No. 1 ranked Clemson Tigers at Bank of American Stadium in Charlotte.

 

This matchup will feature two of the nation’s most prolific offenses. Clemson scored 33 points or more in 9 of 12 games, while North Carolina averages 41 points per game.

The key to this game will be which of the two defenses can play the best and slow down its opponent. Clemson can seal its spot in the upcoming College Football Playoff with a win behind the conference’s player of the year quarterback DeShaun Watson.

North Carolina has hopes on landing a spot in the CFP with an upset of Clemson. The Tar Heels will make their push with Marquise Williams their dual-threat quarterback. Elijah Hood the Tar Heels running back will factor big in this game as well.

Hood has 1,280 rushing yards with 16 touchdowns, while Williams has run for 786 yards and 10 touchdowns, and has thrown for another 18.

Watson is the nation’s only player with 3,000 or more yards passing and at least 750 rushing. The Clemson signal caller has completed over 70% of his passes, which is third in the country.

Williams needs only 206 yards on offense to become the fifth player on the ACC to reach 10,000 for his career.

Six Clemson players have 300 yards or more receiving this season with Artavis Scott leading the way with 77 receptions for 709 yards.
